Welcome to Greenwood Elementary School!

Nestled in the historic New Deal community of Greenwood, Greenwood Elementary School has been a cornerstone of education since its construction in 1937 by the WPA. Originally serving grades 1-9 under the Jefferson County system, the school transitioned to the Bessemer Board of Education in 1966 and now proudly educates students in grades K-5. Rich in tradition with strong community support, Greenwood Elementary boasts full accreditation and consistently meets Alabama's academic standards, fostering a legacy where generations have learned and grown.
